Same time as the first, but a vertical composition. Again, barely any editing I just arrived at the perfect time when the sun was lighting the canopy.

Hm. I think I prefer this one out of the two shots - there's a lot more drama in the shot, and it's a much more unusual way to shoot a japanese maple. The color and lighting is absolutely perfect on this, though. I particularly like how the little slivers of sky seen in the top part of the image don't distract - that's what always gets me on pictures of trees, since they tend to glare quite a bit, but they're dark enough here that they don't, and the blue tones actually manage to provide a nice subtle color contrast. Good work.
