This is an actual live dragon fly wing This thing was crazy still and wouldn't budge even if I touched it which offered for some nice macro shots. So I propped him up on my knee and slipped a 12mm extension tube on and started shooting It was windy so I sat away from the wind. I got a couple good shots but I was drawn towards the wing shots since they really magnify the detail of the dragonfly wing and it was something not commonly seen here on dA Shot for the Detail in Macro contest hosted by ^hellfirediva. I was toying with entering this into this contest when I first submitted it, but I decided that I would see what the feedback for the image was first, but now since it looks good, I guess I will change its category to Detail in Nature

Hello dear, you have been featured in my news article about macro and closeup photography. If you like it then it would be nice if you the article to spread the love [link]
i usually hate bugs but i always liked dragon flies. they are gentle and often let you catch them without some weird outcome. generally you can hold them by the wings if youre careful without causing damage. this will let you get some sweet macro of the body shots as well. but you are right. wings are very interesting and not a common sight on here so props to you!
